I hunt in central Wisconsin and last year I had seen five wolves in separate sits.  I applied for a wolf tag this year.  Anybody having the same problem where they hunt?  Wondering how the herd will be affected this year with the wolf sightings.

    Zauner,

If you get a tag, let me know.  You can come up to our place to fill it.  We have a few wolves we would like to get rid of.

That would be great! I found the application online and applied today i will deffinitely call you if i get one.

One question i did have while applying for the license was that if i dont get selected to get a license do i still receive a preference point?

We just live with it (Wolf pack). Hunting prop is right in the middle of a WI DNR wolf caution area. Oneida Co. Well, my food plots still look great. I am beginning to forget what a deer looks like.

THOSE ARE NICE FOOD PLOTS!! I know the wolves are in the area, but do you still see any deer (or, deer at that time)? We have coyotes in NC, but deer just learn to live with it.

We do still see deer.  The deer avoid the foodplot when the wolf pack is using the area, they seem to cover a large area and sometimes take weeks to make the rounds. Wolf sightings have been lower so far this yr, but again, the pack may be on the other side of their range.

Ok. Those wolves must have a good range for them to take weeks sometimes to cover it... BTW the bottom picture was taken on my 15th birthday, I just thought that was cool

I saw a coyote (more of a coyote-wolf hybrid) at 35 yards while I was bow hunting on the ground in the fall. It scared me half to death, but I was surprised as the direction it came from was from a nearby bedding area.
