Late Season Whitetail: A Crash Course

With the rut a distance memory and the orange army on leave until next season, the deer woods are pretty worked over by the time late archery opens. However, the last few years in December and January I’ve taken numerous deer with my bow. When the conditions are right late archery can be even better than the rut. Strategies for hunting late season whitetails can be simple at times but execution of a sound game plan is key. Food sources, effective scouting, along with timing and set up are all crucial elements of successful late season bow hunting.
